The Rise and Fall of The NEW Four Seasons 1966 to 1977 |
The real story of what happened after Nick Massi left the group and Bob Gaudio took the group and the ‘sound’ into ‘new’ directions. A very different history to the one portrayed in the second half of the play ‘Jersey Boys’ and closer to the truth than any other biography on the www.(to date 2018)
Based on research by long-term fans of the group, UK and USA Newsletter and magazine articles since the 1960s and interviews with former Four Seasons, it paints a ‘warts and all’ back-story to the groups least successful period but one that led to their biggest ever hits. It is a ‘work in progress’ as research continues to uncover previously unknown facts about all of the collaborators that created the music. Compiled and edited by Casey Chameleon and the Society members |
Chapters 2 to 4 cover the period from late 1967 to 1970 are currently still being researched and drafted some 5 years after the other published Chapters. The existing Chapters are stored so as to allow for updates as more information surfaces or corrections are found. All Chapters are therefore subject to change. But as of this update in 2018 we still believe these to be accurrate The recent confirmation that up to 50 tracks may exist within the Motown vaults that are unreleased and confirmation that some of these are ‘finished’ means that Chapter 4 cannot be re-written until the review and release of this material, as only then will a full picture of their music during this period be clear. The same applies to Chapter 3 re the last days at Philips in 1970 when around 10 tracks were recorded but never released.
‘That ’Four Seasons’ Sound’ blog will keep collectors advised re any updates. |
