The Rise and Fall of The NEW Four Seasons 1966 to 1977 |
|
The real story of what happened after Nick Massi left the group and Bob Gaudio took the group and the ‘sound’ into ‘new’ directions. A very different history to the one portrayed in the second half of the play ‘Jersey Boys’ and closer to the truth than any other biography on the www.(to date 2011)
Based on research by long-term fans of the group, UK and USA Newsletter and magazine articles since the 1970s and interviews with former Four Seasons, it paints a ‘warts and all’ back-story to the groups least successful period but one that led to their biggest ever hits. It is a ‘work in progress’ as research continues to uncover previously unknown facts about all of the collaborators that created the music. Compiled and edited by Casey Chameleon and the Society members |

The incomplete Chapters 1 to 4 cover the period from late 1965 to 1973 and are currently being researched and drafted. The existing Chapters are stored so as to allow for updates as more information surfaces or corrections are found. The concluding Chapter are therefore subject to change until all Chapters are complete. The recent confirmation that up to 50 tracks may exist within the Motown vaults that are unreleased and confirmation that some of these are ‘finished’ means that Chapter 4 cannot be written until the review and release of this material, as only then will a full picture of their music during this period be clear. The same applies to Chapter 3 re the last days at Philips in 1970 when around 10 tracks were recorded but never released.
‘That ’Four Seasons’ Sound’ blog will keep collectors advised re any updates. |
